What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A chamber of commerce is at the heart of the local economy and the backbone of the nation's economy. A Chamber of Commerce is an association of business people organized to promote the welfare of their community, especially the economic wellbeing.

History of the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce
The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc - McLennan County, was established on February 3, 2004. The Chamberfs purpose is to develop a robust economic base by providing members: Access to information, Business resources and activities that enhance the quality of life for all who live, work and play in our region. The Chamber is committed to the growth and progress of the African American business community. The vision statement of the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc - McLennan County is to be the premier advocate for African American businesses and the East Waco community.
